Description

Description:

Neurotic disorders dominated the landscape of psychopathology for over a century until dying suddenly and traumatically with the advent of the DSM III in 1980. Researchers have now identified experimentally validated shared aspects shared by all anxiety, mood, and associated emotional disorders, such as higher order temperaments, mood distortions, and extensive avoidance habits. In this lecture, Barlow proposes a new integrated diagnostic method as well as the discovery of psychological therapy concepts that directly address temperament.

Objectives of Education:

List the temperaments and major characteristics of the emotional illnesses.
Describe common therapy approaches for emotional problems.
Make a list of several emotional avoidance methods.
